The shocks were etched, masked, primed, painted, and ready for the final clear coat. Everything was on track… until the clear coat reacted with the color layer underneath.
The paint began to bubble.
Not much — but enough that you’d see it, and enough that we’d never accept it.
Most manufacturers would have shipped them anyway.
Some might have tried to “touch it up.”
Others might not have noticed at all.
That’s not how we operate.
We stripped the shocks back down to bare metal, restarted the prep process, and repainted them from the ground up. It took more time. More materials. More labor. And we didn’t hesitate for a second.
