Some installs go smoothly. Others come with a few unexpected twists along the way. AJ Khosla’s Spicy Edition (Habanero) V2 Series Vertical Door System install was definitely one of the more memorable ones.
From shipping complications to unexpected online drama, this trip had a little bit of everything. But in the end, the result was exactly what we aim for on every installation — a flawless finished product and a happy customer.
The UPS Shipping Nightmare
What was supposed to be a straightforward travel-and-install trip quickly turned into a logistical headache.
Both packages for AJ’s kit were scheduled to arrive before the installation date, but UPS failed to deliver both shipments when they said they would. Because of that delay, Tim had to extend the trip and remain in the area for an additional three days waiting for the parts to finally arrive.
Anyone who works in shipping logistics knows how frustrating situations like this can be. Travel schedules, installation timelines, and customer expectations all hinge on those deliveries arriving when they’re supposed to. Unfortunately, this one turned into a three-day waiting game.
Thankfully, once the final package arrived, everything could move forward.
Unexpected Drama From a Competitor
As if the shipping delays weren’t enough, something unexpected happened the morning of the installation.
Louie, the owner of Vertical Doors Inc., decided to take to Eikon Motorsports’ Facebook page and start posting comments telling people not to buy from Eikon, along with several other childish remarks.
Rather than ignoring it entirely, Tim eventually responded publicly and addressed the situation. For the first time, he shared some of the actual facts behind why Eikon Motorsports cut ties with Vertical Doors Inc. and began manufacturing the V2 Series system independently.
While competitor drama is never something we seek out, transparency matters — especially when misinformation is being spread publicly.
The reality is simple: Eikon focuses on engineering, improving, and delivering a better vertical door system for the C8 Corvette platform.
AJ’s Reason for Choosing Eikon
One of the things Tim likes to ask customers on camera for the Eikon YouTube channel is a simple question:
“Why did you choose Eikon?”
AJ’s answer was one of the most interesting responses we’ve heard.
AJ works for a major global technology company known for its colorful branding and innovative products. Being a tech-minded person, he decided to run a deep AI search comparing vertical door systems for the C8 Corvette.
According to AJ, the AI analysis consistently pointed toward Eikon Motorsports as the better option based on customer feedback and performance compared to the VDI kit.
Well… thanks, AI.
The Finished Result
Despite the shipping delays and the unexpected drama surrounding the trip, the installation itself went exactly as planned.
AJ’s Spicy Edition V2 Series vertical doors turned out incredible. The system operates smoothly, the alignment was perfect, and the overall look transformed the car exactly the way AJ envisioned.
Most importantly, AJ absolutely loved the finished result.
That’s always the goal.
A Memorable Install
Even though the UPS delay turned this trip into a bit of a logistical challenge, it was genuinely great meeting AJ and working on his build. Customers like AJ remind us why we keep pushing forward and continuing to improve the V2 Series system.
It was truly an honor to install his kit and bring his C8 Corvette Z06 to life with the Spicy Edition vertical doors.
